Our educational mission is very important to BBPL's success and is an integral component of
our laboratory's value system, providing laboratory-based learning for students seeking
MLS(ASCP) certification, master's degrees as Pathologists' Assistants, or specialized training
for M.D./D.O. Residents. In conjunction with affiliated colleges and universities, BBPL
pathologists and clinical laboratory experts participate by mentoring, advising, teaching,
and providing educational and scientific opportunities while emphasizing self-directed learning.
Directed by BBPL, the Bynum Medical Arts Institute, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization,
provides financial assistance to qualifying CLS/MLS and Pathologists' Assistant students for
BBPL Training Programs.
Eligibility is determined by academic qualifications, perceived potential to advance the fields
of molecular diagnostics, anatomic and clinical pathology, and clinical laboratory science,
as well as nonacademic attributes such as maturity, integrity, motivation and altruism.
