| Enterobius Vermicularis (Pinworm) Identification |
| Preferred specimen: |
Pinworm paddle. Gently press the sticky side of the paddle over the perianal surface. Specimen should be collected between 9 p.m. and midnight or immediately after arising in the morning. |
| Acceptable specimen: |
Clear cellophane scotch tape. Gently press the sticky side of the tape over the perianal surface, attach the sticky side of the tape to a glass slide, and submit in a slide holder or mailer. |
| Unacceptable specimen: |
Do not use opaque or frosted (scotch) tape or slides. Do not submit on coverslips or place stool on tape or paddle. Stool specimens will not be processed. |
