Enterobius Vermicularis (Pinworm) Identification
Preferred specimen: Pinworm paddle. Gently press the sticky side of the paddle over the perianal surface. Specimen should be collected between 9 p.m. and midnight or immediately after arising in the morning.
Acceptable specimen: Clear cellophane scotch tape. Gently press the sticky side of the tape over the perianal surface, attach the sticky side of the tape to a glass slide, and submit in a slide holder or mailer.
Unacceptable specimen:

Do not use opaque or frosted (scotch) tape or slides. Do not submit on coverslips or place stool on tape or paddle. Stool specimens will not be processed.
