BBPL's two branches, Boyce and Bynum Professional Pathology Services and Boyce and Bynum Pathology Laboratories, have been in existence since 1964 and have continued to be successful by adhering to the original principles of providing state of the art pathology services, while remembering that optimal patient care is the first priority.

Boyce and Bynum Professional Pathology Services is comprised of multi-specialty pathologists who are committed to serving the needs of the hospitals and communities in which they practice. Boyce and Bynum remains committed to recruiting outstanding professional staff to provide the expertise and resources to continually offer the newest diagnostic procedures.

Boyce and Bynum Pathology Laboratories is among the oldest continuously operating, pathologist owned and managed independent laboratories in the country. BBPL provides core anatomic and clinical laboratory services augmented with more esoteric diagnostic tests, ensuring that physicians and patients in the smallest, most remote community hospitals have access to the same diagnostic capabilities as hospitals in larger cities and academic centers.

In addition, BBPL has undertaken an educational mission and actively teaches at the University of Missouri-Columbia. BBPL is clinically affiliated with the University of Missouri-Columbia, University of Nebraska Medical Center, the Rosalind Franklin University of North Chicago and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Through these affiliations, BBPL provides outstanding educational and scientific opportunities for pathology residents and fellows, medical technologists, life sciences fellows, pathologist assistants and cytotechnologists.
